Saheli’s Anthology Project
expressing the essence of biculturalism in South Asian-American women Saheli, a Bay Area, California based alliance for South Asian-American women, announces an anthology project aimed at expressing the essence of biculturalism in South Asian-American women ages 15-25 (the age limit is flexible). The anthology will be a collection of personal essays, short stories, and poetry reflecting the issues that young South Asian women face in America while struggling to establish their individual identities. These issues include but are not limited to: experiences post 9/11, hate crimes, religion, racism, culturally influenced gender biases, maintaining eastern values in western society, etc. This collection of writing will focus on the experiences of young South Asian women in high school, in their undergraduate years in college, and in Please e-mail your submissions to: Shivani_Sethi@hotmail.com as a Word attachment with ‘SAHELI SUBMISSION’ as subject.
