Indian Cartoonists on Tibet

Friends of Tibet (India) has put together a traveling exhibition of cartoons on Tibet by Indian cartoonists. The cartoons cover the Tibet issue and the tumultuous Indo-Chinese relations. The exhibition can also be viewed on line.

‘Indian Cartoonists on Tibet’ will be inaugurated by Kalon Tripa, Prof
Samdhong Rinpoche on August 25, Thursday 2005 at the Community Hall, McLeod Ganj, Dharamshala at 10am. The exhibition will remain open for four days till August 28, 2005.

‘Indian Cartoonists on Tibet’ is an exhibition of cartoons on by renowned Indian cartoonists: RK Laxman, Shankar, Ranga, OV Vijayan, Ravi Shankar, Mario Miranda, Rajinder Puri, Yesudasan, Kaak, Balu, Madhu Omalloor, Thommy, Ponnappa, Morparia and Prakash Shetty. Introduction and text are by Claude Arpi, author of ‘The Fate of Tibet’.

This exhibition began its journey from the south Indian city of Cochin in Kerela on World Tibet Day, July 6 2005. It will now travel to places all over India. From Dharamsala to Madras, Pondicherry, then to Bangalore, Bombay, New Delhi and Kolkatta are on its tour map.
