Call for Social Impact Awards

SP Jain Institute of Management and Research announces an event to call for participation where it will decide and present Social Impact Awards.

Concept

Social Impact awards are instituted to recognize the success stories that reflect the interdependencies of business practice and wider societal concerns in a manner that provides mutual benefits. By understanding this relationship we can develop and improve ways for both businesses and society to thrive. It is a critical part of contemporary business because without an understanding of this interdependency, neither business nor the society in which it operates can thrive.  In fact, this understanding is becoming increasingly more essential as corporations grow in size and influence, and public pressure intensifies for corporations to address pressing social and environmental concerns.

While many questions raised in social impact management are difficult to answer, they are not significantly different by nature from the kinds of judgments and choices business managers make all the time.

Why SPJAIN for Social Impact awards

The center for DOCC at SPJIMR was established in the year 2001 with a view to mould management education in accordance with the Indian context. It has its origins in SPJIMR’s research project for ASSOCHAM, which addressed the issue of socio-economic development of rural India. DOCC is built on SPJIMR’s philosophy of ‘value based growth’ and ‘influencing practice’. In addition, through DOCC we aspire to create a movement to build the managerial potentials of the Institute’s participants to make them sensitive to Indian ethos and culture. We also strive to act as a medium to create a network between NGOs and the corporate for sustained and enhanced impact of development processes on society.
