Fanaa Should Not be Banned

We, the concerned citizens from Gujarat, are seriously disturbed and anguished by the arbitrary banning of the movie "FANAA". Only bunch of people are trying to represent Gujarat and claiming that this is the view for the whole state.

Aamir Khan’s comments asking for is the rehabilitation of those displaced by the construction of the dam have been used by vested political interests to ban the film.

The banning of the screening of Fanaa is an offence to avail the right of expression.

We are ashamed to live in a country where one political party can use the power given to them by the people to punish and rob a person of his democratic rights. The concerned party has shown the highest level of immaturity by stopping the screening of Fanaa.

People of Gujarat must get the chance to put forward their view as to what exactly they want. We, therefore urge upon you to, in the interest of the people of Gujarat, to
1) Allow cinema owners to screen the film.
2) Make sure that the law and order prevails.
3) Take the necessary action against those who slaughtering the democratic rights.

Sincerely,
Nazariya- Youth for Peace & Equality
