The people of Pakistan have been denied their legitimate right for democracy for many years. Military rulers along with their interloper partners have longed ruled the country with iron hand and sham democracy in the name of international security.

These restrictions on rights have been manifested in numerous ways that affect the country. Thousands of youth have been missing in Balochistan and Sindh – the government has been unwilling to explain the circumstances despite a Supreme Court Order.

Recently, Pakistani government agencies have threatened and intimidated Dr Ayesha
Siddiqa's who recently published 'Military Inc.: Inside Pakistan's Military Economy' and interfered in this publication. Although Dr Siddiqa was able to use the office of a non-government organization after hotels refused to provide a venue, her phone service has subsequently been repeatedly disrupted as she gave interviews and she has told the Committee to Protect Journalists and others that she feels increasingly isolated and physically threatened. On Saturday, plainclothes "Special Branch" agents visited her home town Khanqah Sharif near Bahalwapur and questioned her employees about
Dr. Siddiqa, her husband and property.

Various academics and citizens from around the world and from Pakistan have urged the Pakistan government not to curb academic freedom. At a time when Pakistan faces an internal political crisis and a dangerous regional security situation the need for information and free expression of ideas only increases. Dr. Siddiqa has produced thorough research on important topics that can inform open debate by all Pakistanis, and indeed others around the world. She and her work should be defended, not threatened or suppressed.

The recent events of firing the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Pakistan, the highest legal authority by the President General Mushharaf has unmasked the despotic ways of the current regime. The massacre of innocent lives in Karachi last month and the blatant neglect of the authorities in preserving the lives and safety of citizens of Karachi has shaken any trust left in the aims and agenda of the ruling military regime and its partners.

To stand in solidarity with the people of Pakistan, we the Pakistani American community, through various groups, organizations and individual members of the community will voice our sentiments and call for the restoration of democracy, justice and due process in a rally outside the White House on Sunday June 3rd, 2007 at 3pm at Pennsylvania Ave and 15th street in Lafayette Park. This rally is organized by member organizations of CRDP in collaboration with other professional, civic and political organizations.

Dear Sir/Madam,
Whom to blame for………..

I appreciate these thoughts to blame some one, as Pakistani history is full of ups and dawn with these kind of incidents, but it is not enough to blame one person or group of person alone .The realty is that Since the creation of Pakistan the Pakistani people are left at distant from the corridor of power so that the ruling elite can do what they wanted to do in favor of their interest, leaving the Pakistani people at the mercy of circumstances. As this policy is denial of right of Pakistani people to rule their country according to their aspiration and desire to built this country, which can provide equal opportunity to all without any discrimination for the establishment of welfare society. Only the society base on tolerance, equality and justice can be the real guarantee for the prosperous and strong Pakistan

In the corridor of power all are the one and the same, whom should we sue and blame for, heinous crime of keeping the Pakistani away from corridor of power and robbing their moral and legal right to rule this country.

Status Quo will remain unless you have some genuine and sincere leader emerge from within the people. All we are depending on feudal politician or on those who are loyal to them. Drawing room politicians will keep the politics in drawing room, simply because they want to fill the gap well wisher of the dawn trodden people in this country, they want to prove as a champion of masses but in reality they don’t want the masses to share the power in this country.

AL-MIGHTY ALLAH HAS ASSURE THE POWER TO THE DOWNTRODEN, EXPLOITIVE PEOPLE TO RULE THEIR LAND PROVIDED WE COME TO TERM …An acceptable programmed for majority Pakistani from all the corner of the country.

So please come out of this expectation that some one will do the required change for them.. Pakistan will not change through silent revolution or ballot. But need the alternate socio-political system to empower the Pakistani at grass route level. The people should come out on the streets to make their voice heard. The history has proved that any violent resistance will rune the target for change of system as the ruling elite will exploit the incidence as anti national and crush the movement.
Our ruler will prefer to break the country in to pieces instead giving the right of ruling to the people of Pakistan ,they will proudly distract and destroy the country in the name of national interest as they are doing till date.
Pakistan do not deserve any further loss or damage to its existence ,We have already lost the major part of Pakistan in 1971 simply to save the centralized sole power to exploit this country by the ruling elite they let the country break in part then allowing the masses to rule this country democratically.

In the present circumstances we are again dragging our sovereignty at stack for the external interest in the name of national interest, instead of our interest i.e. the interest of Pakistani people at large.

Therefore, expectations and being optimist is good but, the only way out of these crucial circumstances is to empower the common Pakistani at grass route level i.e. the change of system. This change is inevitable for the prosperous Pakistan .As a citizen of this country I have try to provide an alternate socio-political system to empower the masses at grass route level for rapid industrial and agriculture development with transparency and accountability in the system. Along with basic guarantees for the creation of welfare state, where in public representative and institution shall be answerable and accountable to the masses.
