Ref: A report on Dr. Mashelkar committee.

Dear Sirs,
I have no access to the detailed reports hence I would refrain from passing any judgment on the main issue of plagiarism and what really went wrong. However, I would earnestly request the respected journalist and the media to learn to see thing with a positive bent of mind also. Sensalisation of issue does attract attention but ultimately erodes the credibility. Do not suspect anything and everything. In fact all the members of the committee have such a distinguished career and unblemished tract record is not hidden to any member of the scientific community. In fact India should be proud of such scientists. What Dr. Mashelakar has done to turnaround CSIR or Dr Goverdhan Mehta has done in the front line area of natural synthetic drugs and to Indian Institute of Science or Dr.Asis Datta has done in his area and to JNU can not just wiped out by one derrogatory report. We should rise above the pettu mentality of accusing people. Well ours in a peculiar society wherein one act of omission or commission could undo the entire life time contributions of an individual. Why should we expect a human being to be perfect and not give him the space for the possibility of misjudgement or an error. We should listen to their side of story also and then draw conclusions.If it is a unholy nexus investigate and prove before casting aspersions.
