The Seamy Side of Chinese Growth
Former Canadian Secretary of State and MP Hon David Kilgour in Mumbai to present an investiagtive report on China's seamy side on human rights. Former Canadian Secretary of State and MP Hon David Kilgour to speak on 'The Face of China: A Human Rights Profile' at the Jaihind College in Mumbai on April 24, 2007 at 4pm. With the population of 1.3 billion people, the world's largest nation that has assumed an increasingly important economic role, China projects an impressive face on the world stage. While the dramatic economic growth shows a brighter side as a major player in international affairs, does there exist a darker side? David Kilgour, former secretary of State, Asia-Pacific, and David Matas, human rights activist and lawyer, have recently drawn up a revealing insider report for the world to see. In this seminar, David Kilgours will bring out the highlights of their investigative report, which has already received international acclaim.
