Though People's Republic of China has taken all security measures to crush the people, protests are bound to follow the Olympics Torch throughout its 137,000 km-long journey - across five continents and twenty countries. On April 17, 2008 the torch carrying the 2008 Beijing Olympics Flame of Shame will reach New Delhi. Friends of Tibet will join and organise nation-wide protests in India on April 17 to condemn the Chinese occupation on Tibet and the crackdown on the
Independence activists since March 10, 2008. To join or to support activities, kindly write to: support@friendsoftibet.org or call: +91.9815601768, +91.9967021592, +91.9418079832.

"My sympathies lay with the Tibetans. I feel whats happening in Tibet is not right and in my small way I should show my solidarity." Baichung Bhutia

"When I do run with the Olympics Torch on the April 17, it is not in support of China. In fact it will be with a prayer in my heart for the people of Tibet." Aamir Khan

"I am totally against mixing up politics with sports. All we could do now is to participate and protest." PT Usha

"I do not want to run with the torch as a caged woman. Why turn India Gate into a zoo? What is the point of running with the torch? I do not want to participate in a caged environment. If you make the environment so suffocating, then it is better to let the torch travel on wheels or with the Army." Kiran Bedi
