Kalam Style Of Riverlinking
Ravinder Singh says that data suggests that riverlinking is unfeasible and states will not give their water - and yet the president walks around with power point presentations of riverlinking
Civil Engineering Mafia” in has fooled our beloved President to promoting world’s biggest nonsense of a project in river link. Actually the states that own river waters do not have spare waters nor have they offered any waters to NWDA but strangely President carry NWDA prepared Power Point of Riverlink all over India. The riverlinking in South India being promoted for decades robs low rainfall regions to deliver more water to high rainfall regions. People have been fooled for 5-6 decades that TN is driest place on earth but in fact gets very good rains. The only areas that get more rains than TN are west coast ghat regions or North Eastern states. For 9 months in a year most of India experiences dry spell but southern states, get rains practically through out the year considering cyclone bring heavy rain in between two monsoon seasons. Here is in the rainfall chart you can see that when rest of the country has dry spell TN and Kerala gets heavy rains. Therefore water ought to have been transferred to North from South for nine months for essential drinking water needs. Here you can see in third link the rainfall for season beginning October01, 2006 in “Milimeters” received by Telengana region of Andhra Pradesh but the table that follows for TN has figures over 10 times more that of Telengana. [Seasonal Rainfall upto December13 in millimeters for Telengana Region Adilabad 69.6, Hyderabad 51.3, Karimnagar 108.7, Khammam 72.3, Mahabubnagar 52.1, Medak 41.5, Nalgonda 88.1, Nizamabad 59.7, Rangareddy 44.1, Warangal 82.9] I have attached the riverlink maps for south India that brings all the water to Tamil Nadu. It is not surplus waters going to deficit area but waters of deficit areas going to surplus area. Criminal conspiracy of Tamil Leaders is evident from the fact they actually wanted Ganga Waters to virtually fly over Telengana region that is the most drought prone in the country in Ganga Cauvery Link, Garland Canal followed and then Riverlinks were considered but some smart Tamil Experts or Crooks have modified the Garland Canal project in to National Waterways. Ganga Cauvery, Garland Canal and National Waterways concept diagram is given in following three links and Riverlink after a paragraph. You can see that in riverlinks 10 and 11 there is very little benefit accruing from sub basin transfers in Ganga Basin when similar conditions prevail in either ends of canal and only a small fraction of water is transferred at HUGE cost but large amounts of Narmada waters could be easily transferred to Chambal, Ken Betwa and Son sub basins of Ganga. Similarly 12 or 13 links are foolish considering the area receive very heavy rains every year and is also flood prone. In link 1 you see that Mahanadi River water is delivered at the tail end of Godavri River that receive heavy rainfall and cyclones therefore undesirable and could be washed away in cyclones. None of the riverlinks qualify for development either no water has been offered as surplus to NWDA or little water is transferred between the links at huge cost or water is delivered at the tail end or water is drawn from low rainfall region to high rainfall region. But strangely link 9 (Cauvery- Vagai) within TN that needs no central approval or clearance from other state has not been on been built for 50 years. Link 14 also falls within Karnataka state. It is utter foolishness for TN to install “De-salination” plant worth Rs.1000 crores at Chennai that receives very good rains spread over 9 months. I actually met TN municipal head at a seminar last year and told him that best and economical option shall be to draw 1%-2% of Cauvery waters for Chennai that shall serve Chennai for centuries. Yes god laughs at the utter stupidity of our leaders. Ravinder Singh December14, 2006 OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 0830 HRS IST ON 13TH DECEMBER 2006 /22ND AGRAHAYANA 1928 (SAKA)
