A Computer Coaching Centre was inaugurated in the slum community of Anna Bhau Sathe Nagar, Mankhurd, a slum community of more than 3000 houses. The Centre was inaugurated by the Additional Deputy Collector-Smt Farogh Mukadam in the presence of Murzban Shroff (Internationally renowned Author), Shri D. Souza, Senior Inspector-Deonar Police Station, Adv Parvinder Singh, Bombay High Court, Madhuri Variyath and hundreds of slum dwellers. The Computer Centre has been possible because of the support of Guillermo Fernández Flórez, a Spanish Filmmaker who had stayed with the Andolan for three months last year.

It is worth mentioning that the residents of Anna Bhau Sathe Nagar slum have been just issued Eviction Notices by the State Government in the recent past to which the residents have challenged and opposed. Exhibiting their unity, they have prepared and submitted a proposal to the Central and State Government for the implementation of the recently introduced Rajiv Awas Yojana while renewing their pledge to fight back any attempt by the Government of bringing in bull dozers in the slum.

The Centre will be run on a non-profit basis for the skill development of the slum dwellers especially the youth and women and for this we request your support and solidarity.
